Action Plans
The Climate Change Commission (CCC), created by virtue of Republic Act no. 9729 or the Climate Change Act of 2009, is the lead policy-making body of government tasked to coordinate, monitor and evaluate its programs and action plans as regards to climate change. The formulation of nation and local climate change action plans is mandated under RA 9729:
Section 13, entitled “National Climate Change Action Plan”, states that the Commission shall formulate the National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP) in accordance with the National Framework Strategy on Climate Change.
Section 14, entitled “Local Climate Change Action Plan”, states that the LGUs as frontline agencies in the formulation, planning and implementation of climate change action plans in their respective areas, shall formulate their Local Climate Change Action Plan, consistent with the provisions of the Local Government Code, the Framework, and the National Climate Change Action Plan. This page contains information and resource materials on the national climate change action plans and local climate change action plans.
